Decades of Bridge Experience with Frontier West
Frontier West has been building bridges and performing bridge rehabilitation work for over 30 years. This $25M bridge construction project is located on Beartooth Highway in northern Wyoming and was constructed at an elevation of around 10,000 feet above sea level.
Steven R. Burch
President Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West
With over 30 years of experience in construction, excavating, reclamation, and demolition, Steve brings his extensive background and knowledge to lead Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West in delivering first class results for its customers. He has managed the construction of subdivisions, interstate highways, dredging operations, river reconstruction, mine reclamation, and manufacturing sites. Steve maintains a legacy of project delivery excellence - always within a safe, clean, and positive work environment.
Nicholas J. Miller
Vice President Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West
Nick Miller serves as the Vice President and Construction Manager for Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Montana State University and 16 years of construction management experience. Nick is a 5th generation Montanan with a rich family history in mining, construction, and now mining reclamation.
Lead Estimator and Office Project Manager
Kris is a civil engineer with extensive experience managing in the field. He has managed multi-million dollar projects from both the contracting side and the oversight side, always with a strong commitment to seeing the projects completed right. Kris has done considerable amounts of underground utility work and environmental restoration projects.
Office Project Manager
Tom brings 19 years of strong experience in grading and site development, underground utilities, and airport reconstruction. Day to day, Tom manages construction projects, orders materials to project specifications, and is the liason with subcontracts, owners, engineers, etc. Extensive knowledge of GPS-based grade control and doing precision earthwork are just a couple of Tom's fortes.
Craig Lien, PE
Vice President Frontier West
With over 30 years of experience in bridge design, bridge construction, and bridge rehabilitation, Craig brings his extensive background and knowledge to help Frontier West in delivering quality results for its customers. Craig has extensive experience with design builds and brings unique qualifications to the table as he was a bridge engineer prior to entering the bridge construction business.
Field Project Manager
Mike has been in the construction industry for over 18 years. He brings extensive experience in earthwork operations, in-land marine work, and underground utility work to Missouri River Contractors. Mike is committed to seeing projects through from start to finish and has a great working relationship with project owners and engineers. His commitment to safety and quality is unwavering.
Field Project Manager
Ryan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology and years of experience in project management. He brings to Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West a wealth of expertise in safety, quality control and from large earth work projects across the country. Ryan heads up a crew that has years of experience building bridges for Montana Department of Transportation and many other customers.
Tyrel Wilson, PE
Office Project Manager
Tyrel was born and raised in Montana and grew up in a family comprised of farmers, ranchers,teachers, and small business owners. He graduated from Montana Tech with a Civil Engineering degree and brings with him 15 years of professional experience. He has managed and overseen projects from the owner’s side, engineer’s side, and the contractor’s side. Tyrel’s experience has primarily consisted of managing multifaceted projects where different disciplines and expertise were needed to coordinate and come together for successful project completion. Tyrel enjoys the opportunity to build solid working relationships with people who have different backgrounds, personalities, and priorities. He also appreciates the opportunity to make a living by producing something tangible that benefits the residents and taxpayers of Montana.
Obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Chip brings many skills to Missouri River Contractors. These include material testing, surveying, project analysis and reporting, procurement and bidding, logistic management, Bluebeam Software, AutoCad, and Civil 3D. Chip reviews project engineering plans and specifications for accuracy, updates to the project plan when applicable, completes daily reports, and tracks usage of material quanities.
As a former business owner with 15 years of foreman and superintendent experience along with 32 years of heavy equipment operating, Brad has many years of experience in the field. He obtains multiple certifications including fusion welding, OSHA, MSHA, HAZMAT, and training in Hazwoper, First Aid/CPR, Competent Person Trench Safety, and Competent Silica Training.
Field Project Manager
Dan is a Marine Corps Veteran with a background in Motor Transportation Maintenance Management. He has completed welding and heavy
equipment trade schools, giving him a greater understanding of the equipment
and personnel requirements a large fleet needs. He is a dedicated,
hardworking individual, and his attention to detail and leadership experience
is a great addition to the team!
Greg has extensive experience with fleet management and equipment knowledge from his many years in the industry. Daily duties include managing the mechanics, tracking service maintenance on equipment, and daily write ups. His ever-positive attitude makes him a great team member.
Shana brings Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West valuable experience in finance, employee payroll, and human resource development. She is committed to keeping things on schedule behind the scenes working hard to keep our customers, subcontractors, and employee's taken care of in a timely manner. Shana brings a great attitude and a can-do spirit to the office every day!
Anna obtains her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Carroll College and is also a Licensed Property Manager. Her office tasks include entering invoices, assist with payroll, new hire paperwork, and update the EEO bulletin and binders. Anna greets each customer with her contagious smile and is a great addition to the Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West team!
As the equipment and office assistant, MacKenzie enters fuel logs, DVIR's, preps title work, and tracks all equipment paperwork including license, registration, and insurance cards. MacKenzie obtains her Associate of Arts degree from Central Lakes College in Brainerd Minnesota. Her calming demeanor is a great attribute to our office!
Kylie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from MSU-Billings and currently serves as the Lead Accountant for Missouri River Contractors and Frontier West. She brings a strong work ethic and positive attitude to the office, managing finances to help ensure the business runs effectively. Born and raised in Montana in a construction family, she is highly motivated by team success in the fast-paced construction industry.
